Questions & Answers

Does this bundle work with any Talos Linux version?

The bundle is validated against Talos Linux 1.7 and later. Talos 1.6 is supported on a best-effort basis. Earlier versions are not supported due to breaking changes in the system extension API.

Can I use simplyblock without the Talos extension?

Not on Talos Linux. Because Talos does not allow ad-hoc kernel module loading, the NVMe/TCP module must be delivered as a signed system extension. The bundle includes this extension — without it, the NVMe-over-TCP data path cannot be established.

What is the joint support arrangement?

When you purchase the bundle, support tickets that span both products are handled by a shared engineering queue. You open one ticket, not two. Response SLAs match your simplyblock contract tier.

How long does initial deployment take?

For a three-node simplyblock cluster attached to an existing Talos Kubernetes cluster, the automated provisioning playbook completes in under 30 minutes. Full production hardening — erasure coding tuning, QoS policies, backup configuration — typically takes one additional day with the professional services team.
